Christian weightlifters, Christian trainers, athletic and fitness fans — Christ and fitness… all of these things go hand in hand. Just take a look at scripture…
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV)
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Now I didn’t always care about fitness. Most of my young life I was skinny. I always wanted to have big muscles, but I never put in the time. Through my college years and for a while after college I did nothing to help my health. Actually most of what I did was unhealthy. Even though I went through this period, I always admired men and women who were physically fit and especially men who took the time to get large muscles from weightlifting, body building and training.
My turning point was a few years ago after I finally truly came to know my Savior. I realized that I have to really take care of my temple and had to make sure I was healthy enough to live out and fulfill what God put me on this wonderful planet to do. Realizing all of this took me from an overweight 250lbs to where I am now…. the healthiest, most fit and strong 205lbs that I’ve ever been.
One of my favorite things to do is lift weights. I currently lift at least 4 days per week. I’ve done it long enough now that it’s actually a habit that I hate to miss. When I started Lifting Faith, I realized there weren’t any type of Christian weightlifting jewelry that I really liked. So I started making some myself.
A few current items I have available are pictured below (if you find an item that has already been sold, but would like me to make another, let me know)…
I’ve also made a few custom pieces, here’s a recent piece I made for someone competing in the Arnold Expo..
If you’re a Christian weightlifter, body builder, trainer, fitness fan or Christian athlete and would like a custom piece of Christian jewelry such as a necklace, bracelet, dog tag, etc… let me know. I’d love to make something special for you. Got a special fitness or lifting event coming up? Share your ideas with me and we can come up with something great for you to proudly show your Christian faith and that you care for your body and well being.
