Lifting Faith… you’re probably on this page to find our where the name for my company came from and who I am.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved to use my hands to build and fix things. When I was young I would fix my parents small appliances; I loved building with metal Erector sets and Lincoln Logs and would play with and take apart any electronic toy I could get my hands on. As I got a little older I would work on my bicycle, build push cars or forts and eventually started working on cars and doing handyman type work on homes. The ability to do all of these things always came naturally to me… no building or engineering lessons, it was just like it was all preprogrammed in my head.
It wasn’t until I was older and came to know my Lord Jesus Christ, that I realized why I had these talents. Several years ago a friend gave me Max Lucado’s book “Cure for the Common Life: Living in Your Sweet Spot“. At that time I was already a believer, but the book helped me realize that I wasn’t using my God given talents. God gave me the talent of using my hands to build, fix and create things for a reason… to fulfill my purpose that He has for me.
Since that time, I’ve backed away from the type of work I was doing and I’ve headed in the direction in which I was called… the direction He wants me to head. Since I’ve gotten a little older and my back isn’t as strong as it use to be, I’ve had to stay away from lifting and building larger things. But this didn’t keep me from creating and building smaller things.
So going back to the first sentence above… where did the name Lifting Faith come from? It comes from my faith in the one true God and wanting to lift up this faith by using the talents and skills that He gave me. I want to lift my faith to Him and everyone else that encounters the jewelry that I create.
When you’re looking through my designs you won’t see any type of mass produced piece. Each piece starts in my head and then from raw sheet metal I create each piece by hand. Nothing is made by machine. Different types of raw sheet metal, hammers, forming tools and the hands that God gave me. I hope you enjoy my jewelry designs as much as I do creating them.
